Kingfisher Housing (Hull) Limited was established in 2008 as an independent company to manage the property portfolio previously owned by Avocet Trust.

There are currently 42 properties which are owned or managed by the company in the Hull and East Riding areas. These properties are available for both registered care clients and clients under the national Supported Living scheme, together with the provision of accommodation for commercial use and training and education.

The properties are of varying designs and ages and have been refurbished to a high standard. They are presented in neutral colour schemes which allows for each client to personalise their own room or property to their own choice.

Kingfisher Housing provides an in-house maintenance service to the properties within its own portfolio and to other customers including private landlords and other care providers. Each property is routinely inspected and a yearly servicing and maintenance program is adhered to in line with both statutory requirement and client need.

Other services provided by Kingfisher Housing include training and development opportunities for vulnerable adults, which can include on the job training through to full apprenticeship schemes. Each training program is tailored to the individual who is placed with the company.

Kingfisher Housing also provides accommodation to other vulnerable sectors of society, including transitional accommodation, permanent accommodation and respite facilities.

A number of refurbishment and capital works projects have been successfully completed over the years of trading, with several exciting new projects currently being worked upon at present.

Key achievements include the successful registration of the company with Hull City Council’s Accredited Landlord Scheme, membership of the Association of Supported Living and registration with CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme).

Kingfisher Housing is also responsible for the group fleet management of all vehicles owned and operated by Avocet Trust.
