"Service to a just cause rewards the worker with more real happiness and satisfaction than any other venture of life." - Carrie Chapman Catt (1859-1947): American Women's Rights Activist
Volunteer work can be an invaluable opportunity to build your own skills, confidence and knowledge in addition to supporting local schemes that improve the opportunities and experience of others in your community.
The Avocet Trust has a number of projects that would benefit from the support of volunteers. One Enterprise in particular, based at Neat Marsh Farm in Preston, East Yorkshire, would benefit from individuals looking for voluntary work in animal husbandry, crafts, horticulture, metal work, and woodwork.
As an organisation the Trust sees the work of volunteers as invaluable in terms of offering additional support and experiences to our client group. In return for the support offered the Trust ensures that all volunteers receive the appropriate training and support.
Our volunteer policy can be viewed below.
If you think you would like to apply to work as a volunteer with the Trust please fill in an application form advising us of your skills. We do ask that all of our volunteers undertake our standard recruitment process, which includes filling out an application form, providing referees, and undertaking an enhanced DBS check.
An application form can be downloaded below.
